I encountered a serious problem when editing metadata tags with mp3tag while musiccovered was open. If i make changes to the tags in mp3tag while musiccovered is open, musiccovered creates new folders and changes the folder structure that I have for my music library.

I probably should have taken screenshots of the mess that it created in my folder structure. But after cleaning it up the few times it happened to me, i'd rather not go through the process of restoring my 4TB library from a backup again.

I’m very sorry to hear about this issue, and I completely understand how frustrating and worrying it can be, especially with such a large music library.

This bug has already been corrected in the new version 7 of MusicCovered, which will be released soon. Version 7 will include its own independent metadata editor, and it will also allow MusicCovered to work better alongside third-party metadata applications such as Mp3tag.

For the moment, to avoid this problem, I recommend editing metadata with MusicCovered completely closed.
