Is there any way for non-compilation albums to show the Album Artist tag rather than "Various Artists"?

As an example, here's a screenshot of Yellow Submarine. As this features both the Beatles and the George Martin Orchestra it shows as Various Artists but I have not designated it as a compilation and I have recorded the Album Artist tag as The Beatles.

Yes — in that case the behavior usually depends on the Compilation flag in the metadata.

If the album is not marked as a compilation, then MusicCovered should follow the Album Artist tag, exactly as you would expect.

If the Compilation flag is present, then the album is treated as a compilation and it will be grouped under Various Artists instead.

So in your case, the most likely reason is that the album still has the compilation flag set in its metadata. If you remove that flag, it should then be attributed to The Beatles based on the Album Artist tag.

That is the intended behavior.

That said, version 6.1 will also include a fix specifically related to compilation handling, but the general logic behind it remains exactly as described above.

That would be the correct approach for an album like Yellow Submarine if you want it handled as a Beatles album rather than as a compilation.

To confirm, there's no Compilation tag present in the files and playing the album back it the main views shows the Album Artist correctly. It's just in Library view it shows under The Beatles but as displays as Various Artists!
